Months before a homeowner might step into their completed custom-built home, there are hours of work to pour into design, plans and material estimates. There are proposals, specifications, construction phases and permits. And there are schedules, contractors and suppliers that must be managed down to the finest details.
Building a custom home creates an active and in-depth relationship between a builder and a homeowner. Through every step of the process, both parties must be in constant communication to share thoughts and concerns and ensure everyone is on the same page as progress is made and changes arise.
Every builder has its own tried and true process to bring to the table. At The Leland Group, owner John Ballantyne started his business with a commitment to build every home as if it were his own, and he personally manages and oversees the construction of each one. John believes that through honesty, respect and teamwork with his clients, trades and suppliers, his team can create a custom home that thoroughly meets expectations while staying true to vision and budget.
The Leland Group has built custom homes—ranging in styles from French Country to Arts and Crafts, and Modern—throughout the greater Cincinnati region for more than 30 years. John and his team call on long-term partnerships with dynamic craftsmen and suppliers to do the job right and bring the finest products and lasting design to every new home they create.
When building a new home at Vista Pointe in South Lebanon, The Leland Group works with the homeowner first to learn their needs, lifestyle, design style and budget. Preliminary plans are drawn, and layouts thoroughly discussed with an architect. Costs are estimated, bids collected, suppliers determined, and finishes selected. Once a construction agreement is signed, building commences. Schedules are created and open communications are critical as the building process progresses. Once the home is near the finish line, a walk-through is completed to review inspections and final details.
Throughout the entire process, The Leland Group offers an app to help homeowners stay informed and organized. The app lists every detail of their selections, budgets and building schedule, and includes photos of their project. The Leland Group’s Design Coordinator personally accompanies each client to every selection meeting to help guide them through the process. Frequent job site meetings are held during construction to manage questions, maintain confidence and ensure the entire experience is exciting and personally rewarding.
Constructing a new home can seem like a never-ending cycle, but with the right builder at the helm you can rest easy knowing someone is at your side through each step. At the end of the day, when the keys are handed over, it is imperative to The Leland Group that a new homeowner is proud, excited and confident about their custom home.
